A researcher whose work focuses on the transmission and pathogenesis of influenza between species has joined the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia as a distinguished professor in the Department of Animal and Plant Health. A company spokesman said Friday that one of the two vets at Georgia Veterinary Medical Center died from a coronavirus infection. The researcher, who studies transmission between species and the pathogenic virus, has graduated from Georgia Tech's College of Veterinary Medicine after a distinguished career as an assistant professor of veterinary and plant health.
Morgan Russ, from Deland, Florida, enrolled in Ross University's School of Veterinary Medicine and is a member of the South University Physician Assistant Program. Amanda Mohammed, of Snellville, attends Emory University, which offers a master's degree in veterinary medicine with a focus on veterinary and plant health. Elias Moreno of Moultrie is a medical student at Kansas City University; Megan Shannon of Dublin is a PhD student in veterinary medicine at the University of Georgia Veterinary Center in Athens; and Morgan Russ of Deland, Florida, is a graduate student at Ross University Veterinary School. Michelle Moncrief, an ABAC graduate from Donalsonville, has attended Georgia Tech School of Animal and Plant Health and the College of Veterinary Medicine and earned a Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Master of Animal Health.
She graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia in 2005 and has been practicing in the area ever since.
After graduating from the NGCSU, Dr. Pinson married and began teaching at the University of Georgia Veterinary School. After graduating from veterinary school, he and his wife moved to Tifton, GA, where he runs veterinary medicine. He graduated with a BS in microbiology and then attended UGA College of Veterinary Medicine, where he received his DVM degree in 1988. She studied at the University of Georgia and enrolled in the ABAC Veterinary Engineering Program, graduating with a B.S. in Veterinary Science in 1990. In 1992 she moved back to GA to attend the ABac in TIFton GA and in 1994 she completed her veterinary technician program.
